Dear Parents and Guardians,

Superintendent Message Updated Thursday, March 12

Dear Parents and Guardians,

In his message this afternoon, Governor Mike DeWine issued an order closing all school districts for a period of three (3) weeks, beginning Tuesday, March 17, 2020.   That three-week period will end on Monday, April 6, 2020.  During this period our district will continue to provide instruction, and teachers will have regular scheduled office hours during which students and/or parents may contact them with questions.  These hours will be communicated to you by each individual teacher.  It will be important for your child(ren) to come to school on Monday, March 16, 2020 so that he or she can receive materials and instruction for the weeks that school is closed.

Important Message From the Superintendent

Dear Parents and Guardians,

First, I would like to assure you that we have no knowledge of any student or community members being diagnosed with Coronovirus (COVID-19).  However, in order to be prepared should conditions change, and our schools must be closed for a period of time, we need to be ready to continue your child’s education in a meaningful way, even if school is not in session.

On Friday, March 13, 2020, Vermilion Local School District will be closed to all students.  All VLSD staff members will report to school as usual.  They will be participating in a practice exercise designed to test how well we can provide remote learning to our students.  As you can imagine, this is not a simple task, but it can be successful with everyone working together:  administrators, teachers, students, parents, care-givers, and community resource providers.
