SKILLS LEARNED

  • Operate, maintain, and repair farm machinery and equipment

  • Plant, weed, harvest, and inspect crops by hand or with small tools

  • Mix and apply fertilizers and pesticides to control weeds, insects, and diseases

  • Move and transplant trees, shrubs, and plants using tractors or wheelbarrows

  • Supervise and assist work crews during planting and harvesting seasons

  • Feed and care for livestock, ensuring pens, cages, and yards are kept clean and disinfected

  • Monitor animal health and behavior to identify signs of illness or injury

  • Administer vaccinations and basic treatments to livestock

  • Herd animals between pastures, pens, scales, or transport vehicles

  • Perform stick welding and basic metal repair work

  • Build, repair, and maintain structures using carpentry and woodworking skills
